40 Breeder + 250 MH

Would a SE 250w MH be too much over a 40 breeder?

I was planning mostly SPS with some LPS lower. Only reason I am thinking of going this route is I have the equipment laying around.

I have a 250w 14k in a lumenarc with no other lighting over my 40 breeder for a year now with great results.

the only thing that comes to mind is heat and being carefull with corals that dont want direct lighting
