I was wondering if the magnetic PFO ballast will run the radium 250 watt bulb.

I didnt know PFO had a probe start ballast? Any pulse start or electric ballast should fire the Radium (although they are made for hqi ballasts)

most PFO ballasts are probe start, very few are pulse/HQI. You had to pay extra for pulse/HQI back in the day.

Guess I was totally wrong. Seems like I only see PFO mentioned when it comes to HQI and specifically Radiums. When they went out of business a lot of people were concerned with ballast availability for 250 watt radiums.

Depends on the PFO magnetic ballast.
If it is the M80, then yes, it will. If it is the M58, then no it won't.
I still use a PFO M80 250 watt HQI ballast and it has been working great for 7 years.

Does it say Probe or Pulse anywhere? No model number?
You'll have to open up the ballast box. It is probably an Advance ballast inside and should have some sort of ID on it.
