Tank is a 70G 30"x30"x18". I have an MP40w ES and am thinking of adding an MP10 ES. Any suggestion on where in the tank these should be placed ?

I'd place one on each opposing side so that they face each other.

I'm working through the same situation but can't use the dual side placement. 70 gal cube (31x31x18) mp40, possibly want to ad a 10. Reef structure is setup like two plateaus from the back of tank straight to the front with a open channel down the middle. Mp40 is currently high up centered on back wall in the channel. Getting a nice undertow back through the channel as well so I don't want lose that when adding another pump. What do you suggest for pump, placement, mode? Thanks

Might try to ad a photo later to give you a better idea of the reef

I think the setup you have now is perfect, that's where I'd recommend you start.

So you don't think adding a MP10 would be necessary then? I wouldn't know where to put it without disrupting the 40's undertow. Guess I'll just let the 40 go full blast on reefcrest for now and see how it works out.

It's hard for me to tell if it's necessary without seeing the tank in person. I think if you don't have enough flow then I would add another pump, and MP10 would be good, although with a tank 31" square, you may want to consider a second MP40 instead.
