Hi,

I was thinking about using a set up like this for RODI and salwater. I'm just not sure how it works. Can anyone explain it?

Also, wouldn't it be hard to rinse out all the brown stuff from the salt? :bounce1:

Small one is RO water.
Large one is for mixing salt.

I would set it up a slight bit different. I would connect both tanks to the external pumps input using a tee. Both sides would have ball valves.

Under normal operation the pump circulates the salt water. And is drained out like in the picture or is plumbed into the output of the pump with a long hose on it. Ball valves let you divert the pressure where you want it.

When you need to top off the salt container you close the bottom valve to the large tank and open the one for the RO. It will top off and then you close the RO ball valve and go back to mixing the next vat of salt.

Every 6 months to a year you run a batch with a couple gallons of vinegar mixed in. There is no manual cleaning involved.
