you hid your equipment good for being sumples. I sure hope to have a beautiful tank like that myself soon. Is that skimmer a hob skimmer?

Very nice. Once again we see that a sump is not necessary for a beautiful tank.

Thanks guys, yeah the toadstool is huge. It's trunk is actually 15"x18" wide. The skimmer is hob, a Warner marine H2 and is a beast. Heard they don't make them anymore. If u guys look in the video, there is a smaller leather right next to the giant one, well that one is yellow and is currently expanding, and that was the size of the giant one when it was first purchased 5 or 6 years ago:beer:

Looks nice, what is your temp normally stay at and how do u maintain it there?

Surprisingly temp only fluctuates between 78 and 79. No heaters. Our homes central air is kept at 77 and will automaticaly switch from cool to heat to maintain at 77. Besides in Laredo, tx, it is always above 77 from march to November.

That is one impressive toadstool! It almost looks like a carpet anemone at first glance. Very nice and different tank.

I agree that toadstool looks like a huge carpet nem. Very nice indeed! I also have a simple setup with just a few cords. I have the same 4x54 light with the built in timer, 2 power heads, a skimmer and a heater for a total of 5 cords. I don't have a sump and I use a hob skimmer ( just upgraded to an sro lx2000 )

If that little toadstool gets as big as the other one you'll have a full tank with just 2 corals. Lol

very very nice tank. i read an article last night regarding long term planning and it said planning for a coral diversity lower than many choose to use can help with long term success. did you plan from the beginning to have one large specimen as a centerpiece or have you seen competition between corals that led to the current state of the tank?

Well, first of all, thanks for all the compliments,

It is actually a funny story, my wife actually picked this leather as a showpiece for our 30 gallon in San Antonio,tx...it outgrew our next 55 gallon and was actually the only reason for an upgrade to a 120, well at least that's what I told my wife. It is actually about 1/3 of the 120g 48 x 24 x 24". Maybe a future upgrade is in order. Ps. Never once have I ever dosed my tanks, no iodine of any kind. Just now will begin to add coral snow, seebhow that goes

I do an 8 gallon water change once a week or 6 gallon wc twice a week if there is any ich in the tank.....doesn't happen often but does happen, I never add any ich fighting chemicals to my tank.

I am currently using 4 bulb aquatic life t5 fixture with ATI bulbs

20 seconds with magfloat every morning, afternoon and before lights go out, weekly water changes, clean up crew I guess, nothing special
