View Full Version : How do shoot antinic shots

I just finished a diy led fixture and i'm trying to capture some trippy shots of my corals with just royal blues on but my point and shoot sony dsc-w350 is limited I tried playing around the setting but everytime it just come out very dark and blue can't even make out some of the pictures can anyone give me some pointers? thanks.

With actinic lighting you struggle with 2 things:
-Blurred shots due to slower shutter speed needed with the decreased light, for this use a higher ISO without going very high or else noise starts to appear, and use a tripod. Decrease water flow if shooting soft corals that sway with the flow.
-White balance, the most difficult part of Actinic shots, as the camera won't be able to correct for so muc blue. I would shoot in RAW if your camera allows it and use a RAw converter to try to adjust the WB. Maybe creating your own WB preset if your camera allows it would also work.
