sfiligoi Infinity XR4 400w - changing ballast questions

I may be purchasing a sfiligoi Infinity XR4 2x400w. It comes with the external ballasts and is about 4 years old. I do not want or need 400w bulbs and want to switch this to either 250w (using aquaconnect 14k) or 175w and use Iwasaki 14k bulbs. Does anyone know what is required to do this? Is it as simple as just wiring up the ballasts or is there something that needs to be done with transformers? I don't want to get into too much modification. If I can just swap out the ballasts for some icecaps or galaxy ballasts I will do it. If it is much more involved than that I will probably have to pass.
