my pH has been a swingin' from 7.8 to 8.4 and my monti cap is started to die off.

dkh: was 9 two days ago, this morning was 7!
temp: 78-80
SG: 1.025 (with ato)
i added some alk today and started mixing 30 gallons of reef crystals for w/c tomorrow. i have plenty of turbulence in the sump and also angled some power heads to increase surface agitation.
any other suggestions are definately welcome.
