Hi,
I just emailed
[email protected] but I will also post here because I need help ASAP.
I noticed the skimmer pump was not working this morning so I pulled it and cleaned everything. I still can't get it to start up. I think I have tried everything. It does not even attempt to start up when I help turn the pinwheel. There is no visible damage on any of the parts.
The pump is under warrantee but I need to get my skimmer up and running ASAP.
Thanks for your help.

I never got an email form you. Make sure it is sent to
[email protected] Please state the models number of the pump which is located directly above the powercord plus when and where the skimmer was purchased.
Have you removed and inspected the impeller and magnet assembly? If you blow into the airline will the skimmer pump start?

Thanks Jeremy. I just resent the email but it appears I had the email address correct.
Anyway if you don't get the email.

The skimmer was purchased from Aquarium Specialty on November 25, 2009. I have never had one single issue until yesterday.
I removed all the parts, inspected and cleaned. No signs of damage and nothing appears to be preventing the impeller/pinwheel from moving I did try blowing in the airline and nothing happened.
Thanks for the help.

If you can blow into the airline and the pump will start, what does that mean? I have that going on with my SRO pump. Thanks!

It can be that your venturi is partially clogged or that your skimmer is placed in higher than recommended water level and has a hard time starting a vacuum to pull the water out of the airline. I would suggest that you remove the pump and let it soak in a solution of vinegar and water and take apart the pump and inspect the venturi, the pinwheel and the magnet assembly for any blockage or imperfections. Let me know if you still have trouble.

The pump has been doing that since I first got it. It has been in a vinegar/water bath and no change. I would say my pump is in 5" of water or so. It is not deep my any means. To me, it seems like the magnet trys to spin but does not have enough torque to kick it off. Sometime on a fresh start it works, sometimes it doesnt!

Your welcome to send it in for service repair. Just send me an email of the model skimmer your referring to, where and when you purchased it and the serial number off the back of the pump (located right above the power cord) to
