I am currently in the process of choosing the flow for my tank, it is a 77”(L) x 50”(W) x 30”(H).

I plan on having the pumps on the back wall pushing into the front.

Since they cost the same, I was wondering what option would be better:

3 x 6205 or 2 x 6305 (on 7095)

I would also like to note that I will have a wavemaker with 2 units (not tunze, DIY) pushing up to 30,000 Liters each.

Thank you for the help.

It mainly depends on the flow you want, 6205 will cover about 5ft by 3ft and 6305 about 6ft by 3ft. In general I like the 3 6205 so there is extra pumps in case one needs repair.

Thank you Roger.

Very good point regarding repair, I always keep extra pumps (Chinese made) on hand in case any pump fails.

The tank will be SPS dominated but with open scape, would you still advise getting 3 6205?
Again, all the pumps will be on the back wall.

Thx.

I think for the 50" span the 6205's are the best choice.

Im sorry Roger, actually the depth is 145 cms, i.e. 58 in.

I got my calculation wrong. Extra 8 inches wont be a big deal.

Thank you for your advise, I will proceed accordingly with 3 6205!

Thx Again.
