I have asked a few people I know locally and they are all puzzled. Hopefully someone on here knows.

I'm not really sure, but a chalice coral came to mind first.

I kind of thought that as well, but there is no other real color too it besides the brown. it is very thin and hard. The top is flesh, and is slimy like when you touch a brain corals flesh on accident.
