I've got 3 tunzes I would like to run in a tank. What's the easiest way to run 3 pumps on a 2 Channel AquaSurf/Apex to Stream Cable?
The second input is being used for another tank. Can I run 2 pumps off one side? I realize they will have the same program. Just don't want the pump to be on 100% of the time.

Yes, Tunze sells a port expander that will take a single control and span it out to control 2 pumps; works great (I use them).

Are you referring to the y adaptor that runs 50 bucks (7092.340)?
I was hoping there was possibly a cheaper option. Do you think a DIY mini din "Y" cable would work?

Yes, that is what I was thinking about. I'll take a look inside mine (if it can be opened) and see if it's active or passive and let you know. I wouldn't want to suggest a Y cable just in case it might kill a pump; you can try it but I wouldn't.

Yup, the Y adapter is active:

Bummer, figured that is why it wasn't just a cable :)

I appreciate you checking though! Thanks.

Whats wrong with using a Y-cable? Or maybe I am missing a point. I have my 3 Koralia's all hooked up to one EB8 socket. Obviously can only control all 3 at once rather than independantly, but no issue with the purpose these serve.

The OP is asking about using a Y adapter on the variable-speed ports; they are much different than a Y on the EB8.
