I am using your 4 stage Spectapure 60g/day system with the .05 micron sediment cartridge, carbon, and color changing DI resin in that order. My output water has 0 TDS but I am showing .08 mg/l of PO4 with the Hanna electronic instrument. I have just changed all three filters and my RO membrane is about 1 1/2 yrs old. I probably use 100g of top off water per month and my tank is showing a PO4 of .18. Is there something I should be doing to get the PO4 out?
Appreciate your help,
Thanks,
Bill

Could you please run a test with distilled water from the grocery store as a baseline?
We often hear about these meters being off by as much as 0.1 mg/l.
If your meter is good, I'd recommend getting our MaxCap D1 add-on system that will let you put a MaxCap DI in front of the SilicaBuster, as we do with our MaxCap RO/DI system.

I checked the PO4 on distilled H2O and got .04 mg/l. What do you think? Instrument margin of error? What does the MaxCap system do? Not familiar.
Thanks for your assistance.

That would indicate that the zero baseline for the tester is 0.04.
Which color-changing resin (bulk or cartridge) are you using?
If 0.04 (that's 4/100ths of 1 ppm) coming out of the DI is too much, then I would again recommend the MaxCap D1 system that will let you put a MaxCap DI in front of the existing DI, as we do with our MaxCap RO/DI system. The MaxCap DI has increased capacity over standard DI's and takes a lot of the load off the final "polishing" DI, so it can do an even-better job of removing ionic impurities.
See our MaxCap RO/DI sytem here:

and the MAxCap D1 add-on system here:

Thanks for your help. I am using your DI cartridge. Can i just replace my existing DI cartridge with the MaxCap D1? A PO4 of .04 is unacceptable in a reef tank.

The D1 housing is designed to be installed after your existing DI housing. The MaxCap DI goes into the existing housing and the existing DI cartridge goes into the new housing.
We have many DI cartridges. Which one are you now using?
You should not use a MaxCap DI alone without a final Mixed-Bed or SilicaBuster DI after it.
