Mummy Eye Chalice placement

Hi all! I need help placing this guy. I am all SPS except for a Torch and this piece. Someone traded him for a light I had.

Currently I have it on the sandbed, but not sure if it needs higher light or if it even likes the sand?

Any help is appreciated.

I would throw him on the sandbed or under a shaded rock. What is your lighting set up and how deep is your tank?

My ME likes low light and seems to be a good grower.

I have a 14 bulb, 39 watt Aquactinics T5 fixture. Tank is a standard 180, so 24" deep with a shallow sandbed. The area that my Mummys Eye sits is under the acrylic center brace so it is partially shaded now.

what kind of mummy eye? i have a LE mummy eye that is pretty high up in my tank. you need to slowly raise it up high if you plan on seeing how it works.

I put mine on the sand bed and shaded area. I have 250W MH and tank is 24" deep. So far so good.
