Recently set up a nano for our son in his room, given he's only a few months old it will be a bit before he really enjoys it haha.

Figured I might as well start a progress thread to watch it grow. I don't have a lot of money to dump in it right now, so most things are being done on the smaller side of the budget.

Luckily, I have plenty of testing supplies and equipment still laying around from service tanks.

Equipment used:
10 gallon standard tank
2x10watt 50/50 PC bulbs
Marineland 150-soon to be modded to hold cheato
Duetto 100 - packed with live rock rubble, used more or less as a powerhead. Had it sitting around from a previous tank.
13-15lbs of live cured fiji
15lbs of crushed coral substrate - 5 lbs came from established system

Equipment ordered:
2x24watt 50/50 Coralife PC bulbs
Chemi-pure elite

Current stock:
2 blue leg hermits
Yellow polyps
GSP
Small hammer frag
Green mushroom
Feather duster - Going back to work before to long
Zoa frags
Small BTA

Possible stocking:
Waiting for two nice looking misbars to come through
Black ray goby
Pistol shrimp
Various coral frags

Future CUC:
Small hermits-roughly 5
Various snails-Nasarius, Turbos, Margaritas
Peppermint shrimps

2 1/2 weeks after Initial Setup and cycle - Light burnt out that day

Not to much has changed since the last update.

Got lights in today, and removed the feather duster.

Now all I need are more frags, and waiting on my clowns to come in.

Wow! Your water parameters must be perfect for housing an anemone.

BTA's are usually pretty forgiving as anemones go. But, I don't really have much of a bioload in the tank yet. I just got my chemi-pure elite yesterday too so that should help if it works as well as people say it does.

I also just do 10% water changes weekly to replace trace elements, keep ph stable, and water parameters in check.

Now that I got my lights, i'm going to go over to a friend's house and raid his tank for some frags pretty soon.

I wouldn't suggest a nem until your tank is at least 6 months old, but I would wait till a year mark. My opinion though

Nice tank but that is an EXTREMELY bleached Bubble Tip Anemone and your lighting is not strong enough to nurse it back to health. I would consider returning it for credit if you can.
