Ok I just got this pink and green wilsoni from a website and I guess the shipping wasnt what it wanted now I am in the process of trying to help it recover. Tissue receeding so now there is no pink just green. I woke up earlier today and a chunk of the green is hanging on by a thread. I need some help with the recovery to stop the tissue from receeding. But anything would be helpful , heres what it looks like.

Lol yes. It looked so healthy on the site, I got that and some other ones but the only ones that had prbs were the wilsoni and the green milli which was completely bleached.

I'll go out on a limb here and say that is a brand new frag that probably shouldn't have been sold and shipped just yet. Looks like it was cut and dropped right into a bag for shipping.

It looks pretty bad, but if there's any chance it'll recover, keeping it shaded and in gentle currents is about the best you can do for it at this point. Bummer because those are really nice corals. Good Luck!

that's the spirit!
But I would contact the vendor and send a photo of what's happened, just so they are aware of the shape it arrived in.

Yea I did and they only told me that next time I purchase from their site I will be credit toward my next purchase. Kinda sucks.

That is a poor response. How about if you don't want to do any future business with them? What happwns to your credit. Most reputable dealers will issue you a refund on the spot. If not just file a complaint w/ your credit card company.

Yea I know. Im dissappointed about the whole situation but I think if it were a couple hundrid dollar purchaSe I would be real mad but i ordered 6 corals and 4 good ones came, lost one green milli and the sympyllia is still trying to recover. i shouldnt have to haggle for what I purchased but its not worth the time to me ill just have to find another frag website.

That's too bad I ordered from him and had a good turn out. Dealers need to take care of their customers.

Anyone know if I can dip the coral in anything to help with tissues recovery or should I just leave it be in the shade.

If it's getting worse, yes you could try a iodine/revive style dip, however if it's the same I wouldn't induce any more stress than it's already had.

mrcoral is a known chop shop. granted his frags are cheap, but the survival rate is poor. Have you tried feeding it? I would try feeding cyclopeeze or maybe some reefchili or something similiar. Its not quite ready for large meaty stuff yet, but it needs some food for energy

Yea I fed it cyclopeeze last night it ate a few pieces and puffed up. Looking good as of right now, if it keeps on eating maybe it will make a full recovery and look good as ever...hopefully

I just saw this thread, how's the coral now? I heard Wilsoni's don't frag very well. People are adviced against cutting it.

Lets put it like this....its was in the coral icu for a bit melting everyday. Now its exactly 1 sq inch, uswd to not have any color but since ive been feeding it every otherday its just starting to slightly get is pinl and green coloring back and starting to try and grow back tissue. I feed it mysis, spectrum pellets, and cyclopeeze, alternating about 3x a week. So status has went from icu to Stable and trying to grow, nothing spectacular but its way better now. Its able to sit on my sandbed now wit all 6 of my bulbs on without melting. hopefully in a few months and some tlc its will be my tank showpiece. Ill post a pick in the morning to let you all see.

Here it is. You cant really see the little blob trying to color up in the pic good enough but its there.

Wilsonis don't frag very well. I have never had a frag make it. Some have but none that I know. In addition it needs a colder than normal tank. Over 77 and you are pushing it. Best of luck with it.

Wow...Great work. Back from the dead. Remember you can always go to your credit card company if you have trouble with a vendor. Just look at the frag plug in your first pic, no algae, no coralline, nothing. Cut, glued and sold... Poor practice I'd say.
