I recently converted my 55 gallon tank w/ no overflows to a 90 gallon tank w/ a corner overflow. I see this negative space not being used other than the piping for the sump. Has anyone used this space? I thought about maybe putting some rubble rock down there for safe copepod regeneration? Any ideas or previous experiences?? Thanks

you can do that, but it tends to become a detritus trap. I just leave mine empty. I think most do.

The overflow on my 90 an aiptasia forest. My pepps have kept the DT clean but I fear they will discover the orgy of food that is just a thin piece of plastic away and jump ship.
