I notice what looked to be like pyramid snails hitchhiking on my turbo snail as it crawled along the front glass.

Are pyramid snails known to eat other snails or were they just riding along?

I pulled the turbo snail out and plucked them off.

I do have a clam in the tank on the rocks, but have never noticed pyramid snails on it.

Odds are if they are on your snails they are on your clam. I would look closely at the clams foot.

Yes, some types of pyramid snails are snail parasites. Take your turbo out and remove the pyramids. Repeat. Get yourself a six line wrasse. Even with that, it won't be a quick fix.

Yep, you're likely in it for the long haul. You'll want to pull the clam and inspect it carefully every so often as well as your snails.

What are some signs that pyramids are irritating my clam?

So far it's been fully extended and seems happy.

I thought that pyramids got into the clams mantle, but I'll check on eye on it's foot too.

They will attach to the clams foot and slowly feed off it. It may look normal at first but will eventually show signs of stress . You will need to inspect the clam very carefully for snails and most importantly, egg sacks. I had a large expensive clam that had these and I battled them for months. I removed the clam weekly and removed them, and bought a yellow coris wrasse. Unfortunately I lost the battle.

If I add a yellow wrasse, is my yellow watchman goby going to flip out?

old post, but relevant: checking once a week is NOT enough, especially at first. every night, for at least 2 weeks, then 3X a week for a few, finally 1 a week. takes at least 3 months, preferably 4.
wrasses will not do anything more than possibly keep an explosion in check, but it will abso not solve the prob of bstrd snails. i doubt any interraction betw wrasse and ywg.
