Have been wanting an ro/di but putting it off due to not knowing how to handle the waste water.
The only place for the unit is in the heater closet in the garage and is about 50ft from the nearest drain. I would have to run a line from unit up to attic and across to a bathroom. Main concern is winter temperatures. We have temps in the low teens and occassionally down to 0. What tubing can be used that will not split if the waste freezes and what about the ro/di unit?
How do all of you do it with the unit in the garage?
Thanks
Steve

I was actually wondering the same thing myself as I wanted to put my RO/DI unit in the garage connected to the hose and drill a hole to the basement through the crack that the builder left to fill up my RO/DI container in the basement. I was at a loss to what I should do with the drain line lol. I could just let it run into the garage, but I'm not sure I like this as we don't have a drain in the garage.

interesting question. you will probably get a better response though in the DIY forum.
