Hi,

After 5 months using drinking RO water from the store, I have decided to buy a RO/DI unit. I need your suggestions on which one to buy. My budget is about $150 max. I am looking at this Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Tap Water Filter System for $50.

My tank is 75 gallon. Please help suggest something.

Thanks,

I'm not familiar with it, but look at bulk reef supply. 5 stage RO/DI 159$

If u get in on a group buy on their sponsor page, you'll get it for 144 I think.

You should save your money and buy a ro/di. I believe that filter is only rated for about 100 gallons depending on you tds in let water. It is basicaly a di filter. Check out this link. http://www.marinedepot.com/Aquarium_Pharmaceuticals_Tap_Water_Filter_DI_Only_Tap_Water_Filter_Systems-Aquarium_Pharmaceuticals_API_MARS_Fishcare-AP4111-FIRODI-vi.html
Check out Bulk Reef's forum there always is a group buy going on and you can get a 75 gpd for $144. Will be way cheaper in the long run. You might need more then one of those cartridges just to get your tank filled, but I have read else where that you can recharge them.

I wouldn't buy that. It's pretty much junk unless you have a really small tank.

+1 on the Bulk reef supply unit.

BRS 75GPD RODI... For $160, you can't top it.

I have narrowed down to either one of these:

BRS 75GPD 5 stage or TYPHOON 5 Stage.

I can confirm that the BRS 75GPD units are a great value and are reliable. Have one at the office and one at home. Easy to maintain too.

I just ordered the 5 Stage 75GPD with a handheld TDS meter with group buy discount.
There goes my ipad2 budget, but it's not too bad.

My BRS 5 Stage 75GPD just arrived last night. Man.. I am impressed with the quality of this RO/DI unit. My water source has 335ppm TDS. My drinking water has 11-15 TDS. RO/DI water is 0ppm TDS. My fishies are happy campers. If I knew this ealier, I would buy this unit to make drinking water instead of buying the Costco unit for 300 bucks.
