i have a 75 gallon with one 250watt metal halide that is 11inches from the tank.were should i put my derasa clam ive been told the sand.and if the sand is it alright to be close to my lta.thanks all posters

Put it in the sand as far away from the LTA as possible. I believe derasa's are sand clams.

derasas are sand dwellers, but need less light than other clams. a fts would help. i certainly would not put it close to a lta. you should be ok anywhere on the bottom. and derasas move constantly anyway, so it'll settle where it feels comfortable, usually near the glass, for some odd clam reason. i move mine once a month or so.

thanks, dstar. took me a minute or 2 to figure out lta.
