2 Part Dosing and PH

I'm trying to increase my alkalinity from 6 to 9 dkh using recipe #1, but my pH is now at 8.4 and my alk still at 6 dkh. I'm on day 2 of 3 of trying to get it to my goal, so I'm wondering if I should use recipe #2 instead?

My pH typically stays around 8.1 - 8.2 when I'm not dosing.

I'm using a LiterMeter III to spread out the doses.

Using formula 2 for large changes is safer. I'd probably break the dosage into two parts, and add them 10 minutes apart, after measuring.

Many tanks consume 2-3 dKH per day, so you might just need to dose more, though.
