I have raised a pair of PJ cardinals from when they were about a half of an inch long to now,~6-7yrs.Over the last couple of yrs the male has always gone missing for a few days to a week or so every month.
I always figured he was probably holding eggs,but I could never catch/observe him "in the act".Well...he made a slip-up tonight.Out in the open he spit out the egg ball...then quickly sucked 'em back in as the female was headed his way flicking her fin's,and cussing him out the whole way.
You could see the look in his eye's....yes dear....yes dear.....yes dear!He went back too his corner and has been there ever since.:hammer:
What would be a good first food for these guy's?If I decide to try an attempt at raiseing 'em?
