Depends on the type and capacity of the unit you've bought.

If you bought a small one... then yeah it's gonna take a while. :D

depends how many gallons per day it does. mine does 75 gallons per day so it's about 3 gallons an hour.

yup.... really depends on the kind you got I have a spectrapure maxcap 90
the 90 is how many gallons a day it can make, I also have a booster pump hooked to it...
it takes me about an hr to make 5 gallons

Mine takes 3 hours for 5 gallons. Sounds normal to me...

Production rates of RO or RODI systems are significantly affected by:
1. GPD capacity of the membrane
2. water temperature
3. water pressure.

But in general, yes - they produce water slowly, especially if you were expecting something like the flow out of a faucet.

Mine only puts out about 40 gallons at most a day but is suppose to put out 100. Its not one of those big expensive units though. Thinkin its like the others say its probably the unit you have as to how much youll get a day. Nice meetin ya on here now and have ya all a great day !!!!!

We have a calculator on our website where you can input your water temperature and your water pressure, and see what your membrane should be producing under those conditions. If it isn't... Slowed production and or bad rejection are symptoms of an RO membrane gone bad.

Wow mines a brand new unit just not the expensive kind. I hope its not a bad membrane. The water dept. guy told me its 65 pressure and the unit said thats what ya needed to make it work right. Boy sounds like thats whats wrong with my unit. Thanks for helping me.

The guy at the water department really wouldn't have any idea what the pressure is in your house. That's something you have to check with a gauge. And your's may not be the same as your neighbor's.
