Any ideas on how I could connect RO tubing to 1" PVC pipe?

I currently have a pump in my top off can connected to a closed piece of PVC and I have a saddle valve on the PVC so that I can connect my RO tubing. Here's a picture.

It was brought to my attention that this isn't a good method because the saddle valve could leech out into the water and being this is for top off, I would be adding that stuff into my tank.

What I'm looking for is a different way to connect the RO tubing to the PVC. If it comes down to it then I guess I'd have to run a different size hose with parts that I know exist but I was hoping to keep the RO tubing if possible.

Your local hardware store, or anywhere that sells irrigation materials and/or refrigerator ice maker connectors will have barb connectors that fit. Then it's just a matter of finding the right adapters.

There are NPT to 1/4" tubing adapters at Lowes and HD. They are in little plastic bags.

Or use a pipe tap to thread one of the mentioned pieces above in. Or use a 1/4" uniseal.
