polyps not opening

have had them for over a year and now they have a white mold looking stuff at the bottom, can't get a good pic of it. But anyone have any idea?

in my experience the piece has died. might want to get it out before it contaminates the rest of the tank. but please know i'm no expert this is merelymy two cents on the matter
