I'm looking to go LED for my 36g bow tank. It's 20h x 30L x 15D. It will be replacing 2 55/65 pc bulbs. I only keep LPS and softies. I planned on using your 12 bulb constant current kit and adding another driver and a 16 inch heatsink. The kit will be housed in a standard aquarium hood right above the water with no optics. Since the drivers are non dimmable I just want to make sure I don't fry my coral. What would you recomend? Someone suggested adding 3 more Royal Blue's but 45 watts sounds like a lot sitting right on top of the tank.

I don't think 12 LEDs is going to be enough, even going up to 20 LEDs or so would be okay (it's hard to suggest an exact number because of the shape of the tank). Also, keep in mind that even though they are 3W LEDs they aren't actually using up all 3W unless you're running them at max amperage (1A for XP-E's/XR-E's, 1.5A for XP-G's). At 700mA the LEDs are closer to 2W a piece.
