We have this coral in our tank and we are having a hard time IDing it. It is a veining coral that fully retracts into itself. They do not pulse but the wave beautifully in the current. We thought it was a xenia but not so sure. All xenias that we find pictures of are growing from a stalk. Ours look kind of like little palm trees. Like I said they do retract into themself and when closed they look like our button polyps. Any help would be great.

Looks like wild pulsing xenia. If it opens and closes that is what it is for sure.

Agreed, Anthellia.

From the Xenia family, but doesn't pulse and grows individual polyps from a mat which encrust the rock.

Pulsing Xenias usually grow a stalk which then branches out into the polyps.

Its an Anthelia species.

+1, anthelia glauca seems likely.
