1. How accurate is this site? Like for example I thought H. Crispa had the magenta tips to their tentacles?

2. This site lists 9 hosting anemone species, but I heard there are 10. Does anyone know the species that is missing?

TIA

And given that this has been put together by John Tullock I would say you can rely on it.

Heteractis crispa, Purple Long Tentacle Anemone, Leathery Anemone - Column tough, leathery, and buried in substrate. Tentalces long and pointed, often bright purple in color.

As to the H. crispa question, they can be all purple.

The Pizza Anemone, of course! Ok, thanks!

And apparently my H. Crispa is a H. Malu then. I was really expecting white rings on the tentacles or something I guess.

I knew they could be purple, I was mostly questioning the "magenta tips" on H. Malu. I thought that was a H. Crispa trait.

Both H. crispa and H. malu can have purple tips. Presence of purple tips is not a definitive indication of species.

Ok, that's what I had been taught. Thanks. Is the white striping always present on H. Malu, or is that optional?

Optional. Some have it, some don't.
