View Full Version : I just did a search on Dr Mac and
I have not seen many/any negatives.
Are there any?
Well I guess I am the only one.
Lucky me.

You are not gonna see any negatives from me. I have only ordered from him once, and the result was great. The corals had their polyps out when they arrived at my house. Another plus is that Dr. Mac will sit and discuss your system with you and help you decide what is the best package for you.

Re: Pod
This person ordered some rock from me, Fed Ex damaged the box. He called me when Fed Ex called him regarding the condition of the box, at that moment I told him to pick up the box and evaluate the status and let me know and that I would take care of him in any way needed so I could satisfied him. He then e-mailed me with a pic of the box and I e-mailed back asking the status of the rock and again that I offered to do whatever needed to resolve any issues. He then e-mailed me back and said he would wait and see how the rock looks and get back to me. From the beginning it was damaged caused by Fed Ex and I offered to do whatever needed to satisfy him!! The next thing I know is I see him calling for negatives here on RC and saying he was more or less screwed by me, he never contacted me directly about a follow up on the status of the rock or attempted to allow me to satisfy any issues.
Just wanted to clarify the situation for those interested. Instead of contacting me directly about a situation I told him numerous times I would resolve that was not my error to begin with, now he takes things public as though anyone here on RC could resolve the situiation any better than I can! Again, my offer still stands to satisfy this customer, as it has since the moment I knew there was any issue. I responded immediately and numerous times to do whatever needed to satisfy this customer and he has decided to take this issue public in a negative way.
Normally I would not respond, but I feel I have been treated unfairly.
Thanks, Mac

I ordered 30lbs of live rock from Dr. Mac about 3 weeks ago and couldn't be happier. My only possible complaint would be that I got two mantis shrimp in the deal! Well, when you order live rock, these things happen and I don't blame Dr Mac at all. Besides, I setup a seperate tank for the little buggers, so everyone's happy!

I ordered 4 ricordea (2 orange and 2 blue at $25.00 each )well there was a 3rd orange on the rock for free that was $25.00 if free stuff that he didn,t have to do and he would have the right to have a complaint i was going to meet he and had to move it to another day and he was happy the help me out and say ok. i would not even think about ordering from he as be a bad thing he is a great guy and will see more of my $$$$$$. mjcshomer i would love to have a mantis shrimp maybe Dr.Mac can help me out.

No complain, only compliments.
My first order from Dr. Mac was 65lbs of live rock to start this hobby. The FedEx guy delivered it with a nervous grin plastered on his face. The package was beaten up real good. Water was leaking and the box was torn open. Even though I wasn't happy, I accepted it anyway. There was rubble, but the rock....can I say ROCKZ! It's been a month since I got them, now they are covered with bright purple and red coraline. I have ordered a few more times since from Dr. Mac, and everytime our transaction went well. Furthermore, Dr. Mac is very accomodating and been very helpful with all the beginner's questions that I have.
I guess when you have something delivered, you are taking a chance. My other experience with FedEx was a Normal Standard Overnight which came at 11am, but Priority Overnight came around 2pm the first time and then 12pm the second time. Go figure. Still, everything looked good once it arrived.
Thumbs up for Dr. Mac.

.
It is NOT his fault.
He offered to help in any way he could.
He did not screw me.
He does respond immediately.
I understand these things do happen.
I am just p!!ssed off it happened to me.
I am not the kind of person to ask for free anything so I will just swallow hard and deal with it.
Everything Dr Mac said is true.

Dr. Mac is the BEST! I am an AVID FAN!
I have personally purchased over 350 lbs of his live rock and 300 lbs of live sand (probably more since I seem to get freebies with every purchase) plus my entire clean up crew (over 60 snails, etc.), and my refugium contents.
Everything has exceeded my expectations. The rock is goregous. When Dr. Mac says "fully cured" he means fully cured. Lots of color and lots of life!
He has gone out of his way to meet me in Salisbury at the most outrageous times and the packaging is always impressive. He has answered ALL of my questions. A knowledgable source of information as well as quality livestock! Without a doubt, the ONLY source of my livestock!
Hats off to Dr. Mac.
