Alright. So i decided on a 75 gallon tank, well that got thrown out, and now im wanting a 120, 4 x 2 x 2. Quite a bit bigger, but at the same price of the 75, i figured why not. Ill have about a 40 gallon breeder/50 gallon breeder as a sump. My skimmer will be SRO xp2000. Lights are weak at the moment, but I will upgrade, unless i can get it to work out for me. I have ordered an mp40w es. I plan to get another one. The tank has dual overflows, drilled and has bulkheads, What size return pump will I neeD? Wanna keep it internal. drain lines are 1 inch, and the return 3/4

well guessing the GPH on the overflow would be rated at 600-900 gph this seems to be the normal rate on many tank drilled I would get a pump within that range. so a pump within 1200- 1800 gph would be the best. If you are planning to run a manifold to feed other items like canister, reactor, and some times skimmers ( not really suggested)

I have the same size tank, but my 80 gal sump is located in my basement. My SRO 2000 int has to sit in ~4 to 5 inches of water level to operate properly. Have you verified your sump water level in your skimmer location to the height of your stand so you can remove the skimmer cup?

I have that same set up and I run 1 Mag 9 and 1 Mag 12. The Mag 12 is because that one goes through a chiller so it as a little farther to go.

I am going to be making my own stand. So the height of the skimmer wont be an issue. I was thinking about a mag 18 or something for the return. Now as for lights: how about this

48" 8x54W Miro-4 T5 High-Output Retrofit Kit w/ Bulbs

Retro kit from reef geek will I be fine with that instead of halides for all corals to be grown?

Also, consider different approaches. If you plan to have powerheads in tank for water movement then you can use an undersized return pump to make the water flow through the sump slower, thus allowing the skimmed more time to do its job. There are just so many things to factor in the planning process, take your time, experiment &read , read!

I have a 40 gallon breeder. I have been slowly buying pieces for a bigger tank. I received 1 mp40w es today. I plan on buying another here soon. I have a SRO xp2000 skimmer. NExt time looking for lighting. and a return pump.
