My Green Cap Monti was fading to brown a few months ago, so I replaced all 6 T5 bulbs over a weeks time. Then after moving some rocks, by gobi went nuts digging and hit an H2S pocket and the Monti bleached. It's come back, but there are sections that didn't. And it look likes those areas are covered with a black slime. Any ideas what this is? Thanks.

That is cyanobacteria that has overgrown the dead patches.

Thanks. I'm surprised it is hanging on with flow from the Tunze.

The gas bubbles are what make me think it is cyano. if it is cyano a turkey baster or soft brush should easily remove it.

I would say try to siphon it out if u can cuz cyano can spread if u dont get all of it out.. =).. if its cyano its very easily removed =)
