I recently bought 2 Used MP40W. They have the upgraded magnet in them. However, they seem to have the older style Wet Drive Shaft, Ceramic Wet Bearing, and propeller. I am not sure to tell the truth. Looking on the Ecotech site I see the smaller Drive Shaft, and different looking wet bearing, along with the propeller. I will attach a picture if you can tell me base on it.

I placed the pin spacer to 1/4 and put them on tank and turned them on. They need the drive shafts replaced. I can tell this after I took them apart from my problems.

The first one ripped the wet frame apart where the ceramic bearing sits. So I know I need a new wet frame for this one. The other one seemed to squeal when increasing the power, I can't turn it up more then half way.

Now what I want to do is maintenance on them however I don't know the parts I can use. I was thinking to go with

1 Wet Frame
2 Maintenance Kits

However, like I said before I don't know if my old ceramic bearings will work in the new Wet Frame. I also don't know if these new Maintenance kits will work with my complete set up.

If anyone could get back to me on this matter it would be appreciated. I thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you.

Also should the magnet and wet frame cover be changed on this? I ask because they look beat up a little.

Forgot to post a picture of the Wet Drive Shafts. They both look like this.

The only parts you have that you could re-use would be the nozzle, wet frame cover, and o-ring. Everything else should be replaced: wet frame, drive shaft screw, drive shaft, ceramic bearing, nut, washer, etc. Probably would be best off to get two new wet sides. That wet side was definitely non-functioning when the person sold it to you.

I was hoping it wouldn't have to be that way. Would have saved alot of money, I guess that isn't possible. :(
