I'm not sure you need a low alk salt, or even a lot alk tank to dose viodka, but if you want a low alk salt, you can peruse these:

FWIW, I don't think the alk in the salt mix has much to do with the alkalinity that the tank runs at. It's like starting a cross country drive, and worrying about how much gas is in the tank to start. No matter what, you will refill it many times.

You can also lower the alkalinity in a salt mix, if you prefer, using muriatic acid.

I was asking because I purchased the Red Sea Pro and the alkalinity was at 12. I referenced that list. I cant say I really understand alkalinity but by doing weekly water changes with a low alk salt I figured that would get me half way there. I never heard of muratic acid. Thanks for the reply.

There are a few threads here where I give a muriatic acid recipe, but in general, I think it is overkill to do that. If you do not dose alkalinity for a bit the alk should decline. :)

None of the stores around me carry Reefers Best. Plus, it is a little pricey. Would love to try it though.
