I bought these guys as a pair. It looks to me that the "female" is actually a transitional male. What do you think? Will housing these two together halt the transition of the smaller fish or is it likely that it will continue to transform and ultimately lead to aggression?

The male;

Looks like two males to me (one being dominant). I am by no means a wrasse expert, but I would say that aggression is likely.

Male and sub male +1

Depending slightly on the tank size and tank mates aggression is likely once they settle down; a few females might help some but likely won't solve all aggression. Make sure your tank is covered very well.
