The LED is a moonlight, it should be placed on the side of the tank and a gentle downward angle, it should be sufficient to simulate moonlight realistically on tanks up to 8ft long and 30" wide. It brightens and dims through a full 29 day lunar cycle. The photocell will stop the pulsing and keep the pumps at the second speed setting all night to simulate the calmer night currents.
