I have a 55 gallon mixed reef. I am currently running a CPR Bak Pak 2 and a Fluval 405, without a sump. I am looking to upgrade my HOB Skimmer to a Reef Octopus BH 2000. Will this be enough to run my tank with out the Fluval? I have read canister filters are bad for aquariums due to high nitrate levels caused by canister filters.
