What kind of crab is this?

Hey guys,

I was feeding my fish the other day and I saw this little guy pop out. I was able to get some pictures of it this morning. I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of crab this is? It's in a 55 gallon FOWLR tank.

I never know what a crab is. I pull them all out unless I bought them on purpose. Better to lose a good hitch hiker than to have a bad crab IMHO.

yeah i would go with what disc1 said, if you didnt mean to buy it i would pull him out.

does he have flat tips on his claws like spoons? if so he's probably just a harmless algae eater. That being said, crabs can and will eat fish if they are hungry. It's up to you! you can also throw him in the sump to clean up some things down there.
