Bought a used Giesemann light fixture today that did not include the hanging kit. I believe I found a kit online for $40 but I am figuring someone here knows how to do it cheaper with parts from my local hardware store.
So anyone aware of a solution?

I bought the parts to hang a t5 fixture today from home depot.
The swag hooks cost 2 dollars each, i needed 2 of them for a long fixture.
Aviation cord, 1/8" (way more than strong enough) with vinyl coating for 40 cents a foot, I bought 14 feet of it.
and the wire rope clips were 6 dollars for a pack of 18 (lots left over for future needs) a set of 2, and you would need 2 packs of 2, are 3 dollars each, the larger package was 7 dollars, obvious score.
This is going to hang from the ceiling from 2 cords, total cost was under 20 dollars.

Guessing the only downside is that it's not adjustable?

Way too pricey but I found directions for those ones.
this is the kind of ceiling mount it looks like my light was using. I have the two pieces on the right already in my light fixture.
I am wondering if the hardware store sells the tube pieces in the middle and the wire with ferrules on them.
These directions give an idea of how it works.

Went to the hardware store today and couldn't find the right parts for the ceiling mount. And the only steel wire I could find is this loose braided stuff for mirrors that supports 76 pounds.
The light is pretty heavy since the ballast are in the fixture.
As for the ceiling mount the two kits I posted seem to be plugs to go into the Sheetrock which then also work as washers for the screws into the stud.
Then something screws into that to hold the wire.
There has to be items like this available outside of over priced aquarium light hanging kits.
Anyone know what to look for at home depot/lowes?
