hey guys,

I've been cycling my tank for about 3 weeks not with lots of live rock and got a clean-up crew a week ago (emerald crab, 2 snails, 2 hermits). When I went to the LFS a couple of days ago, I saw a small Zoa frag and decided it was too nice to pass on... sadly, the polyps are all hiding and I haven't seen them come out in my tank at all.

What could be the problem here? Is there anything obvious that I should check?

thanks for the input.

All parameters. And post them. Best guess is you're not done cycling and shouldn't have put anything in your tank.

Take the frag back to the LFS to hokd it for you. Did you also say that your cycling your tank with NOT lots of live rock?

not = now?

two biggies:

non cycled tank
light shock depending on LFS tank vs. your tank.

It would also be a good idea to run some activated carbon if you are not already doing so. Carbon pulls all sorts of bad stuff out of the water.

Only 3 weeks?
You shouldn't add anything for now.
Took the risk.
Wait for the cycle to be done and the system to be ready for new additions.
