Curious...Just set up my Apex programing and I notice under [Configuration] [Probe Setup] the [offset] is set at [-3]. Is this affecting my result? I apologize if this has already been answered. Thanks

The offset is used to 'calibrate' to a known reference. Unless you know for sure that the probe is not accurate, you should not need to use an offset.

Thanks Swearint.

It doesn't appear to be messing with my result. Based on two other sources the read result sent to Apex from my probe is accurate. Do you think this value was used while testing my unit before it was shipped from manufacturer? Anybody else notice this or see a value they didn't expect?

Thanks.

The Temp probe offset can be adjusted from the Apex Display under the calibration settings. I have 3 probes on my system and they were ~1.1 degrees from the lowest to highest. I placed all 3 probes and another themomemter in the same area of my sump for 30 minutes and adjusted them all to the middle of the measured ranges. Now all 3 read the same! :)

Thanks Schwaggs,

I will consider doing this after my other system is up and going.

I just checked my Apex and it too had an offset of 03. Is this a value set by mistake in the firmware or is my unit calibrated specifically?

My Apex has -3 as well. I assume this is the factory default. Unless you have reason to believe it is not accurate, I would leave it.

OK so what do you do when you need to replace your probe? Leave it or set it to the new probe? Seems they auto set to -3 as default. Why? Thanks.

I don't know, I haven't had to replace the temp probe. You could send an email to support@neptunesys.com. Curt is pretty good about responding quickly.
