does anyone know what thread this photo came from? I want to know what the pillars are on. I think it was some kind of concrete block. I want to do the same thing to keep detritus from settling under rocks and have a sturdy base.

You could just drill the bottom of the rock and tie wrap to egg crate.

Those were constructed on concrete pavers. I don't know if I'd be comfortable long term using this product. With the abundance of dyes and silica present in concrete paving systems it would have me worried a few years down the road.

That would concern me as well. I love the scaping but would want to find another base.
