Will they host?

What kind of carpet? If a gigantea than probably yes (they are natural hosts). If a haddoni than its up too the clown. My old pair of picassos never took to my blue haddonis, so I replaced them with allardis.

In nature I believe they will not host for the most part (haddoni)(gigantea will mostlikely), but some people would swear to you like they (haddoni+ percula) would pair as they had the pairing and it either happened fast or the haddoni didn't eat them :twitch:. I'm sure tod will chime in on this one, he has/ had a pairing before with a haddoni and his perculas ( and it's pretty awesome ). Good luck and DON'T try to force host them it could end disastrously, especially with a haddoni carpet anemone.

the Anemone FAQ at the top of this forum lists natural fish/anemone symbiont species ;)

hmmm.. it says that it is a haddoni, but the pictures seems like a gigantea by the longer looking tentacles (but it could just be me). Here's a pic of what a real blue haddoni looks like ( not my photo )

and a close up of their tentacles ( shorter, stubby tentacles )

Hope it helps, and again these are not my photos I just got these via a google search. Good luck!

The picture is of a gigantea.

My Percula pair stay in the gigantea most of the time but do go visit the haddoni every now and then.

Ehh, I have never kept a haddoni, but I do know they can stretch their tentacles out a little bit to make them longer then just balls. The best way to be sure is to take a look at the column. :)

OP, how old is your system? How long have you been in the hobby?
