I have a 125 g 72 x 18 x 20 tank and I will be purchasing 2 6105's. Are these pumps capable of making a wave with a 7096 controller and if so, at what height. I know the 6106 wavebox is capable but will only get about a 1/2 to 3/4 wave, but I'm not looking for more than that. So can two streams do it or would they need to be supplemented by a wavebox. Primarily LPS and soft coral.

Thanks

The 6206 is the nano wavebox and yes it only makes small waves. If you wanted an actual wavebox then you would want the 6215. The two 6105's in an anti-sync on/off pulse should be able to be timed to create bigger waves then what you say you want. I am sure Roger will chime in here soon.

The 6105's could be used to make a wave, but keep in mind that a wave is generally not a good sole source of flow. It lacks any direction, it is just a back and forth motion that will lift and suspend debris. The ideal would be to use the 6105's for directional flow and produce a wave with the Nano Wavebox.

Also keep in mind that using 2 6105's to produce a wave is 28W, vs the roughly 9W a 6206 would use.

Roger,

I was using the 6105s for flow duty, thought I could use them as a wave maker also. Didnt iccur to me that having them in wave mide would affect overall flow . So they would work well in conjunction with a 6206 in the tank. Im looking for just a swaying motion for corals

You could use them say for a wvamaker at night and flow during the day, but this would require a daily change of the settings. They would work well with the 6206.
