I have a 36 gallon salt setup with live rock and 7 chromis in it now. I was looking at getting an Arrow Crab for the tank, but do they eat small fish?
Are they good to have in a tank or annoying.
Thanks

I've heard that they'll eat almost anything they can catch. I had one years ago that was eatting a cleaner shrimp. Don't know if he killed it or it just died, but he went back anyway. I saw one at my LFS once that was big, I didn't realize they got that big until after seeing it then. I love the look, just wouldn't risk it in my tank again.

If an arrow crab catches a fish, that fish was dying anyway. I have cleaner and peppermint shrimps and they are never bothered.

Arrow crabs are predatory...they'll eat whatever they can catch, and often spear fish with their rostrum.

I had a good size arrow crab catch and eat a healthy yellow tang! I think he got him at night and he ate the eyes out before I could get the dead fish out. Get a small one and should be fine but they do grow pretty fast from my experience.
