I am currently using the BRS 2 part. I am trying to eliminate any errors when making the solution so I feel it would be better to measure by weight, instead of cups. Can anyone tell me what 1 cup of each of these weigh?

Crystalline Calcium Chloride Dihydrate

Soda Ash

Magnesium Chloride

Magnesium Sulfate

Thanks for any help!

I give weight based recipes here, but you need to be sure you are using the same sorts of materials that I designed it for. BRS has adapted my recipe to their hydration states:

Thanks for the response Randy!

I was right on with the Calcium part, but the Alk has me stumped. the BRS version uses Soda Ash for the ALK and only calls for 2 cups total. I may be wrong, but I am assuming the Soda Ash is the result of baking the Baking Soda. 2 cups of the Soda Ash came to 410g by my measurements. I did not pack the Soda Ash when I measured it and wasn't sure if I should have. Anyone using the BRS 2 part and measuring by grams instead of cups? If so, I would greatly appreciate the gram weight of each component. Thanks!

Yes, soda ash is baked baking soda. 100 grams of baking soda when fully converted to sodium carbonate makes 63 grams. So you can use that to convert the numbers. :)
