So my old faithful genx 6000 finally let go and had to buy a replacement pump. the sedra 15000 was closest as the genx was around 1300 gph and the sedra is 1500 gph. I tried a few different venturi setups, the original from the genx and a few diy home mades and no matter what I do it seem I have too much flow and not enough contact time in skimmer to produce foam and skimmate.
I do have a gate valve mod and its wide open and still pushes bubbles to neck and then just bubbles but no skimmate.
Do i need to get more air into it or reduce water flow into pump?
Does anyone have a similar set up or run into similar problems with a skimmer pump upgrade?
