I have a Koren angel that is about 3 1/2 yrs old. Now I know they go through big changes as they get older, But My has these yellow-greenish spots around his eye and face. they are duplicated on each side, so that leads me to believe it's part of his changing. But I wanted to be sure.

Looks like he could be developing HLLE (Head Lateral Line Erosion)

Seaweed every 3 days, Formula 2 marine pellets. Mysis shrimp. I give them a mixture once in a while of some fish meats, romaine , garlic, broccoli. Vita chem and selcon.

Try some New Life Spectrum pellets to see if it'll improve the HLLE issue. It helped somewhat in my case with some fishes in the past.

I would also try and get as much Selcon into her as possible...lots of reports about activated carbon as a possible cause/contributing factor of hlle...do you always have it in your system? may want to try and yank it for now and soak all food and every meal in Selcon and maybe also garlic extreme...very pretty Koran! good luck!!

I am leaning towards HLLE myself but I can't tell if those patches are raised or not from the photo. If they are it is Lymphocystsis, which is another somewhat common malady that angels are prone to. Lymphocystsis is viral and has no cure but does not harm the fish and is not terribly contagious.

The jury is still out on the cause of HLLE but activated carbon dust has been a suspected contributer to the condition. If you use it make sure you rinse it thoroughly before use.

Try incorporating some sponge into its diet. There are several commercial fish foods that contain sponges. I would cut out broccoli and garlic out. Try getting some fresh fish roe if you can from a marine source, such as salmon roe.
