I turn the pumps and light off and when the water settles I use a vaster to slowly squeeze food onto it. Problem is that most of it still falls off.
Are there any tips and tricks when feeding smaller pieces?

I feed my LPS the way you do, and once the enough food hits the tentacles they retract with the food they caught... I you want to feed more you can wait for the tentacles to come out again... I feed small phyto, cyclopeeze so size isnt a problem

I use Phauna Marin for all my chalices and Lps. It works great and they love it.

Mine isn't actually releasing its sweepers. Is there a way to induce it?

usually they will extend their sweepers when they sense food is around. i would add a tiny bit of food to the water and wait for the coral to "become receptive", before feeding. if that doesn't work, add a tiny bit of garlic in the food. +1 on the tropic marin lps food
