I have just purchased some dry pukani rock from BRS. I would like to cut them in half. With a flat back they would fit tight to the back wall. A band saw would do a very nice job but it may not be big enough. I could of course chisel it away but it would not look as nice.

Any ideas?

Thanks

David

I cant help you get them cut but if it doesnt work out you can find the rocks already cut in half at marcorocks. I think they are called "prime cuts" rocks.

I have cut many BRS rocks with my grinder and a 7 1/4 cut off blade; works like a charm.

You can get a "round carbide blade" for a hacksaw. It cuts through the pukani like butter and with the blade being round you can cut in any direction

Even a common hacksaw blade cuts coral rock just fine. I have cut lots of pieces by hand this way.

Not sure how much rock you are dealing w/, but I was going to do similar and planned on renting a tile saw for perfect cuts.
You can rent a wet saw w/ roller table fairly cheap.

The hacksaw with std metal cutting blade cut through the pukani like butter.
